We are Troop 236, based in Danville, California, with a 65 year history of Scouting Adventures! Our Troop welcomes people of all faiths, nationalities, and cultures.
We Believe In…

…Scouts Leading Scouts
Every scout in our troop has the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills through hands-on experience leading high adventure outings, service projects, and teams. We are a Scout-lead troop where Scouts take on as much responsibility as they are able. In so doing we are building character and grit while empowering Scouts to be leaders in a complex and changing world.

…Outdoor Adventures
There is no better teacher than the great outdoors! We know that outdoor adventures foster self-reliance, courage, teamwork, and perseverance. Scouts in Troop 236 explore on foot, in canoes, on bikes, in kayaks, with tents, sleeping bags, and cookstoves, completing challenges they first thought were beyond their ability.

…Making a Difference Through Service
We foster good citizenship and engage widely in community service. Our Scouts learn deeply about our community, nation, and world, and put those learnings into practice by creating and participating in service projects benefiting conservation, community organizations, and neighborhoods.

…Building Community and Character Around Shared Values
We aim to help young people develop into honorable adults. Our programs instill the values found in the Scout Oath and Law. We are trustworthy, loyal, kind, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. (Scout Oath, 1908) We know these timeless values are at the foundation of a moral and ethical life.
