Learning, Exploring, and Leading for Life!

Troop 236 has a long history of amazing adventures with a great group of Scouts, traversing the state and country with backpacks, canoes, and climbing gear.  Our program provides opportunities to develop strong outdoor skills as well as gain exposure to wide ranging career paths, arts and crafts, science and engineering pursuits, and American culture, heritage, and history.  In a given year we also log hundreds of hours of community service through projects lead by Scouts.  When you also consider our six rank advancement levels and over 130 merit badge opportunities, there are so many ways for Scouts to dig in and DO things. Scroll all the way down on this page to catch a glimpse of all that we DO.

We Cultivate Leaders

We Build Community

We Adventure

We Offer Service

We meet weekly on Tuesday nights, with meetings organized around group activities, work on rank and merit badge requirements, and just plain fun.  Scouts plan the agendas and run the meetings to gain leadership skills.

We organize monthly camping outings, each with unique features including hiking, cycling, fishing, rock climbing, canoeing, snow camping, and more.  Scouts lead these outings with adult support.  We also participate in BSA summer camps and other special programming.

Scouts in Troop 236 participate in a wide range of community service projects, including reforestation plantings, trail maintenance, collecting food for the hungry, construction projects for community organizations and campgrounds, and more.  Community service is another way to cultivate leadership and civic engagement.
